About this role
UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is hiring a part-time Preoperative Registered Nurse at its La Grange, Illinois campus (AdventHealth La Grange Memorial).
### What you'll do
- Conduct holistic, individualized preoperative assessments of each patient, accounting for age, physiological, and psychological status.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans to ensure effective treatment throughout the preop phase.
- Serve as the primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated, continuous patient care.
- Accurately carry out physician and nursing orders and document all phases of patient status.
- Coordinate discharge planning needs in collaboration with the broader healthcare team.
- Mentor and support staff to maintain optimal performance and competency in care delivery.
### What we're looking for
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
- Ability to maintain a safe, compliant work environment per departmental policies and procedures.
