About this role
An EEG Technician role at AdventHealth Ocala, a faith-based health system in Ocala, Florida, performing neurodiagnostic studies on a PRN (per-diem) day-shift basis.
### What you'll do
- Prepare patients for EEG testing using the International 10-20 system of electrode measurement and hookup
- Execute EEG procedures in accordance with ACNS guidelines and department policy, including accurate demographic entry and pertinent history collection
- Observe EEG tracings in real time, recognize abnormalities and seizure activity, and notify the physician or supervisor as appropriate
- Identify and correct electrode artifact by reapplying or replacing electrodes to maintain recording quality
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and manage EEG supplies and equipment; submit service tickets when repairs are needed
- Accurately document and charge for procedures while contributing to department and hospital quality improvement initiatives
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Minimum 1 year of neurodiagnostics experience, completion of a formal OJT program, at least 50% completion of an accredited electroneurodiagnostics program, or graduation from an accredited program
- Demonstrated proficiency with the 10-20 system of measurement and general EEG equipment operation
- Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and clinical documentation systems
