About this role
AdventHealth Tampa is hiring a full-time Nurse Professional Development (NPD) Practitioner supporting the Pediatrics and NICU units at their Tampa, Florida campus.
### What you'll do
- Design, implement, and evaluate orientation programs for nurses and ancillary staff new to the Peds/NICU units using ANPD standards and the NPD Practice Model
- Develop and coordinate competency validation activities — including simulation, coaching, and objective performance assessments — for new graduates and experienced nurses
- Create evidence-based continuing education programs rooted in adult learning principles, addressing professional practice gaps identified through needs assessments
- Support the preceptor program at the unit level, mentoring preceptors and facilitating a positive learning environment
- Lead quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives using PDSA methodology in collaboration with interdisciplinary stakeholders
- Collaborate with academic partners for student placement and promote certification and advanced formal education among staff
### What we're looking for
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing or a healthcare-related field preferred
- Active RN licensure in Florida (or eligibility)
- 2+ years of nursing experience in a hospital setting required
- Experience in Pediatrics or NICU preferred
- Prior preceptor experience and formal or informal teaching experience preferred
- Working knowledge of ANA/ANPD scope and standards for Nursing Professional Development
