About this role
A Phlebotomist role within the Medical Group at AdventHealth in Hendersonville, North Carolina, supporting outpatient laboratory services on a Monday–Friday day shift.
### What you'll do
- Perform venipuncture and microtainer (capillary) collections accurately and efficiently across the medical group practice
- Label specimens correctly and ensure orders are received and processed in proper priority order — stat and alert specimens before routine
- Transport hazardous waste from the point of generation to designated secure storage areas following required handling protocols
- Adhere to all safety policies including PPE use, hand hygiene, and hazardous chemical handling
- Troubleshoot phlebotomy service concerns and support leadership with daily workflow and problem resolution
- Operate laboratory equipment including centrifuges, glucometers, chemistry and hematology analyzers, and monitored refrigerators/freezers
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a phlebotomy training program preferred
- Phlebotomy experience (venipuncture and capillary) preferred
- PBT(ASCP) certification preferred; BLS/CPR certification preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Proficiency in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and familiarity with laboratory information systems
- Ability to work independently and within a team; flexibility for schedule variation as needed
