About this role

A Pharmacy Intern at AdventHealth Winter Garden fills a PRN, weekend-day role supporting inpatient pharmacy operations at the Winter Garden, Florida campus. ### What you'll do - Accurately prepare and dispense medications for pharmacist review, then deliver checked medications to nursing units. - Assist pharmacists with sterile compounding, controlled substance handling, medication order review, and patient education. - Follow correct procedures for filling, recording, and distributing pharmacy kits, carts, trays, and interdepartmental product transfer requests. - Identify, mitigate, and report potential and actual medication errors to support continuous quality improvement. - Handle and dispose of hazardous waste materials using appropriate PPE and spill kits per safety protocols. - Participate in stewardship initiatives, cost-effective drug therapy programs, and departmental educational activities. ### What we're looking for - Active Florida Pharmacy Intern (PSI) license required. - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Demonstrated knowledge and competence in aseptic techniques. - Strong verbal communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. - Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office. ### What's included - Hourly pay range of $16.63–$26.60 (approximately $34,590–$55,328 annualized at full-time equivalent). - PRN/per-diem schedule with weekend day shifts. ### About the practice AdventHealth Winter Garden is part of the AdventHealth system, a faith-based not-for-profit health network operating across multiple states. The Winter Garden campus at 2000 Fowler Grove Blvd serves the growing Orlando-area community with a full range of inpatient and outpatient services. The pharmacy department supports patient safety and medication stewardship across all inpatient units.
