Laboratory Assistant I

A PRN Laboratory Assistant I role at AdventHealth Sebring supports clinical laboratory operations at the Sebring, Florida campus. ### What you'll do - Collect blood specimens via phlebotomy and skin puncture across all age groups - Receive, process, centrifuge, and aliquot patient specimens for testing or delivery to testing departments - Perform cytopreparatory staining, accession surgical cases, and set up primary specimen cultures - Conduct point-of-care testing including quality control, maintenance, troubleshooting, and result documentation - Clean and disinfect laboratory equipment, maintain inventory, and manage supply stocking - Handle and transport hazardous and biological waste in compliance with safety and Chemical Hygiene policies ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required); technical or vocational school training preferred - Completion of a phlebotomy training program preferred - PBT(ASCP) or MLA-ASCP certification preferred - Demonstrated phlebotomy skills and aptitude for laboratory procedures - Ability to handle infectious specimens, caustics, and toxic chemicals safely - Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office; ability to learn electronic laboratory systems ### What's included - Pay range: $15.31–$24.49 per hour (approximately $31,845–$50,939 annualized) - PRN day-shift schedule - Equal opportunity employer with established compliance practices ### About the practice AdventHealth Sebring is part of the AdventHealth system, a faith-based, not-for-profit health network operating across multiple states.
