About this role

A Medical Laboratory Scientist joins AdventHealth Manchester's laboratory team on a full-time night shift at the hospital campus in Manchester, Kentucky. ### What you'll do - Perform pre-analytical activities including specimen collection, biological specimen processing, equipment maintenance, and inventory control. - Execute laboratory tests and analytical procedures accurately according to established standard operating procedures. - Conduct post-analytical activities including result reporting and technical support to clinical staff. - Participate in proficiency testing in adherence with federal, state, and institutional regulations. - Serve as a preceptor for new employees and students, documenting orientation and training appropriately. - Support laboratory and hospital performance improvement activities and assist with evaluation of new techniques and special projects. ### What we're looking for - Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution (or qualifying equivalency per CLIA standards). - 2+ years of clinical laboratory experience (preferred). - Proficiency in laboratory testing, specimen preparation, and equipment operation. - Ability to handle infectious biological specimens, caustics, and toxic chemicals safely and in compliance with safety policies. - Strong critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. - Flexibility to work nights, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required. ### What's included - Medical, dental, and vision insurance effective day one. - Paid time off beginning on the first day of employment. - 403(b) retirement plan. - Four weeks of 100% paid parental leave. - Career development resources and whole-person well-being support. - Mental health resources and pet benefits. ### About the practice AdventHealth Manchester is part of the AdventHealth system, a faith-based, not-for-profit health network serving communities across the United States.
