About this role

A full-time Cytologist position is available at AdventHealth's Ginsburg Tower campus in Orlando, Florida, supporting the laboratory and pathology service line. ### What you'll do - Perform microscopic evaluation and reporting of negative gynecological cytology preparations - Evaluate and formulate opinions for the pathologist on abnormal gynecological thin-layer, non-gynecological, and fine needle aspiration slide preparations - Process, stain, and cover-slip gynecologic thin-layer, fine needle aspiration, and fluid specimens - Assist pathologists, radiologists, or endoscopists with slide preparation and sample collection during FNA procedures, including rapid on-site evaluation of adequacy - Handle and transport hazardous waste from point of generation to designated secure storage in compliance with safety and Chemical Hygiene policies - Adhere to all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards including CLIA, state agencies, and corporate compliance plans ### What we're looking for - Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred - Successful completion of a CAAHEP-accredited cytology or cytotechnology program, or HHS-approved certification, or continuous qualifying service as a cytotechnologist in a CLIA-certified laboratory since December 28, 2024 - 3+ years of cytology experience preferred - Technical proficiency in processing, staining, and microscopic evaluation of gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens - Strong verbal and written English communication skills for interaction with patients, staff, and clinical teams - Ability to apply regulatory knowledge, problem-solve, and maintain compliance with all applicable standards ### What's included - Pay range: $31.55–$58.69/hr ($65,624–$122,075 annualized) - $10,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates - $3,000 relocation assistance for qualified candidates - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance effective Day One - Paid time off from Day One; 4 weeks 100% paid parental leave - 403(b) retirement plan ### About the practice AdventHealth is a faith-based, not-for-profit health system operating across multiple states with a mission centered on whole-person care. The Ginsburg Tower in Orlando serves as a major clinical hub, housing advanced laboratory and diagnostic services. The cytology team works Monday through Friday on a 10:00 AM–6:30 PM shift in a structured, collegial laboratory environment.
