A PRN Medical Laboratory Scientist role at Texas Health Huguley Memorial Medical Center in Burleson, Texas, performing clinical laboratory testing across multiple disciplines on a variable day-shift schedule.
### What you'll do
- Perform pre-analytical activities including specimen collection, biological processing, equipment maintenance, and laboratory disinfection.
- Execute tests and analytical procedures accurately per established standard operating procedures.
- Complete post-analytical activities including result reporting and technical support for clinical staff.
- Participate in proficiency testing and performance improvement activities in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Serve as a preceptor for new employees and students, documenting orientation and training activities.
- Guide laboratory technicians and support staff, resolving customer service issues within established guidelines.
### What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in clinical/medical laboratory science, medical technology, or equivalent field of study from an accredited institution.
- MLS (ASCP) or MLS (AMT) certification required.
- 2+ years of clinical laboratory generalist experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, adapt to varying priorities, and manage workflow with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques including specimen preparation, quality assessment, and equipment maintenance.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills; flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
### What's included
- PRN rate of $36.50/hour; pay range $26.91–$50.05/hour.
