About this role
AdventHealth Shawnee Mission Campus is hiring a full-time OR Registered Nurse for its surgical services team in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.
### What you'll do
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, and spiritual needs prior to surgical procedures.
- Develop, implement, and continuously revise individualized perioperative care plans based on patient needs and standards of care.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately per physician orders and hospital protocols, monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and families on procedures, medications, and post-operative self-care strategies.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize perioperative patient care.
### What we're looking for
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas — required.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's of Nursing preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and critical-thinking skills for high-acuity surgical environments.
- Proficiency in EKG interpretation and advanced life support per unit requirements.
