About this role
AdventHealth is hiring a full-time RN Clinic Nurse for its Neurosurgery Clinic in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, under a StaffFlex contract at $56/hr during day-shift hours.
### What you'll do
- Conduct thorough, ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized, evidence-based care plans aligned with interdisciplinary goals.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, maintaining patient safety and adherence to protocols.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, procedures, and care plans based on assessed learning needs.
- Document patient health data, interventions, and handoff communications systematically and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with physicians and staff to support timely patient admission, discharge, and transfer.
- Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring patient rights are respected and regulatory and infection-control standards are followed.
### What we're looking for
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Kansas or applicable compact state).
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required); TNCC certification (preferred).
- Demonstrated critical thinking and abstract reasoning skills for patient assessment and care plan revision.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and Microsoft Windows-based programs.
