About this role
AdventHealth Port Charlotte is hiring a full-time Cardiology APRN (NP or PA) to provide inpatient cardiovascular care under the direction of supervising cardiac physicians in Port Charlotte, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Assess cardiac patients through physical exam, history review, diagnostic testing, and lab interpretation to diagnose acute and chronic conditions.
- Write admission, ongoing, and discharge orders; initiate medications, lab work, and diagnostic testing aligned with individualized care plans.
- Lead daily multidisciplinary care rounds with nursing, pharmacy, nutrition, case management, and palliative care to drive care plan progress and reduce length of stay.
- Dictate and document progress notes, procedure notes, H&Ps, and discharge summaries per medical policy standards.
- Spearhead at least one annual cardiovascular performance improvement project focused on outcomes such as infection reduction, stroke prevention, or post-procedure renal injury.
- Initiate emergency management and patient resuscitation as needed, and coordinate treatment plans across the care team.
### What we're looking for
- Graduate of an ARC-PA–accredited Physician Assistant program or an accredited Master's or Doctoral Nurse Practitioner program.
- Active State of Florida ARNP or Physician Assistant licensure.
- NCCPA certification (PA) or ARNP certification through AANP or ANCC (NP).
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Proficiency in EMR systems with strong clinical, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate complex clinical information clearly across all levels of staff and interdisciplinary teams.
