About this role
A Patient Care Technician supports nursing staff in the ICU Cardiology unit on the night shift at AdventHealth Tampa in Tampa, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Perform treatments per policy, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and cultural background
- Assist in the delivery of direct patient care under the direction of a registered nurse
- Participate in obtaining nursing histories and report abnormalities or changes in patient condition to the RN
- Document and report all procedures in accordance with department policy
- Function appropriately during clinical emergencies and support quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow isolation, PPE, and hand hygiene protocols
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Active BLS/CPR certification (required)
- One of the following credentials: CNA, CPCT/A, or EMT certification (required)
- 1+ year of PCT or applicable patient care experience (preferred)
- Prior bedside experience in an acute care unit, unit secretary role, or monitor technician capacity (preferred)
- Strong communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
