Manager, Laboratory Columbus NC

AdventHealth Polk is hiring a full-time Laboratory Manager for its Columbus, NC hospital campus at 101 Hospital Drive. ### What you'll do - Manage daily laboratory operations including staff scheduling, budgeting, department metrics, inventory, and labor productivity - Oversee quality control and assurance testing, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting across pre- and post-analytical phases - Lead performance improvement activities and represent the laboratory at organizational multidisciplinary and leadership meetings - Supervise hiring, coaching, performance evaluations, and termination of staff with limited oversight from senior leadership - Provide orientation and training to new employees and medical technology students, documenting competency assessments per regulatory requirements - Ensure compliance with accrediting body standards including DNV, CLIA, OSHA, AABB, and CAP ### What we're looking for - Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science field from an accredited institution (or qualifying equivalency) - 5+ years of clinical laboratory experience - 1+ year of laboratory leadership experience - Strong working knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards (CLIA, CAP, OSHA, DNV, AABB) - Demonstrated ability to manage team productivity, coach staff, and lead quality initiatives - Proficiency with computer systems used for patient documentation and laboratory records ### What's included - Medical, dental, and vision insurance effective Day One - Paid time off beginning Day One - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of fully paid parental leave - Career development resources and whole-person well-being support - Pet benefits and mental health resources ### About the practice AdventHealth Polk operates within AdventHealth's expansive faith-based, not-for-profit health system serving communities across the United States.
