About this role

AdventHealth Sebring is hiring a full-time Laboratory Assistant I for night shift at its hospital campus in Sebring, Florida. ### What you'll do - Collect blood specimens via phlebotomy and skin puncture across all patient age groups - Receive, process, centrifuge, and aliquot patient specimens for downstream testing - Load preanalytical instruments and transport specimens to appropriate testing departments - Perform point-of-care testing including quality control, maintenance, troubleshooting, and result documentation - Support cytopreparatory staining, primary culture setup, and blood component processing as assigned - Maintain laboratory cleanliness, equipment disinfection, and supply inventory ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required); technical/vocational training preferred - Phlebotomy skills (required); completion of a formal phlebotomy training program preferred - Phlebotomy Technician certification (PBT-ASCP) or Medical Lab Associate (MLA-ASCP) preferred - Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and electronic health record applications - Ability to safely handle infectious specimens, caustic chemicals, and hazardous waste per regulatory guidelines - Strong customer service and written/verbal communication skills in English ### What's included - Compensation range: $15.31–$24.49/hr (~$31,845–$50,939 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Career development resources and whole-person well-being support ### About the practice AdventHealth Sebring is a faith-based, community hospital located in Highlands County, Florida, operated by AdventHealth, one of the largest not-for-profit Protestant health systems in the United States.
