AdventHealth Central Texas is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department on night shift in Killeen, Texas.
### What you'll do
- Evaluate patients upon arrival using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) triage tool and assign appropriate treatment areas based on vital signs, history, and acuity.
- Perform, document, and report all nursing procedures and assessments in accordance with departmental and hospital policy.
- Recognize and respond to emergency and life-threatening situations, initiating preventive and stabilizing measures.
- Accurately administer intravenous therapy including medications, blood products, and cardiac drips.
- Document patient information and orders through Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) and the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Assess and intervene in cases of suspected patient abuse or neglect, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team on complex cases.
### What we're looking for
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (required); TNCC preferred.
- Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- 2+ years of acute care or emergency nursing experience preferred; new graduates with appropriate certifications are considered.
- Proficiency with EMR systems preferred.
- Ability to exercise independent clinical judgment and maintain compliance with all safety and infection control policies.
