About this role
AdventHealth Port Charlotte is hiring a full-time night-shift Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) for its Cath Lab unit in Port Charlotte, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Identify, prioritize, and transcribe physician orders; complete patient Kardex, care maps, and requisitions
- Notify departments and physicians as needed; maintain accurate chart forms, computer entries, and electronic records
- Perform indirect patient care duties related to admission, transfer, and discharge
- Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to emergency situations
- Post pertinent patient data in a timely manner and access the medication room to secure medication arrivals
- Support quality standards and participate in performance improvement documentation activities
### What we're looking for
- Monitor technician experience or completion of a Monitor Technician training program (required)
- Proficiency in EKG interpretation — must pass a proficiency exam (required)
- Telemetry skills required
- Knowledge of medical terminology and strong organizational skills (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- National Association Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) credential (preferred)
