About this role
AdventHealth Castle Rock is hiring a full-time contract Echo Sonographer for day shifts at its hospital in Castle Rock, Colorado.
### What you'll do
- Perform non-invasive echocardiographic imaging of heart valves, chambers, and blood vessels to produce diagnostic-quality echocardiograms.
- Conduct cardiovascular evaluations including stress echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), Holter monitoring, event recorders, and exercise tolerance tests.
- Calibrate and prepare equipment, select appropriate imaging devices, and determine optimal patient positioning and immobilization techniques.
- Provide completed images, data analysis, and patient information to the interpreting cardiologist for diagnosis.
- Obtain patient history, explain procedures, and address patient concerns in accordance with pre-screening policies.
- Recognize and immediately report abnormal rhythms, changes in patient condition, or emergencies to clinical staff and the cardiologist.
### What we're looking for
- Associate degree from an accredited echocardiography program (required).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital echocardiography setting.
- Active BLS/CPR certification (required).
- One of the following credentials: Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
- Ability to maintain accurate computerized patient documentation.
- Sound clinical judgment to assess image adequacy and determine need for additional imaging.
