About this role

A Sterile Processing Technician II role at AdventHealth's Outpatient Surgery Center in Hendersonville, North Carolina, responsible for the full cycle of instrument decontamination, assembly, and sterilization in support of surgical operations. ### What you'll do - Select appropriate sterilization packaging and wrapping methods for each instrument set, ensuring aseptic technique throughout - Operate complex sterilization equipment, choosing the correct sterilization method per manufacturer instructions and reviewing all sterilizer recording charts before releasing items for clinical use - Disassemble, inspect, and accurately reassemble complex surgical instrument sets, documenting information in the computer tracking system or paper count sheets - Monitor sterilizer printouts, maintain log books, and manage the recall process for sterilization failures with prompt supervisor notification - Rotate assignments across decontamination, surgical tray assembly, sterilization, and equipment management areas - Communicate effectively with all hospital departments and participate in training new employees and departmental in-services ### What we're looking for - Active CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) — required - High school diploma or equivalent — required - 1+ year of related sterile processing experience — preferred - Working knowledge of microbiology principles, aseptic technique, infection control, and cross-contamination prevention - Familiarity with the full range of surgical instruments including use, operation, maintenance, and cleaning requirements - BLS/CPR certification — preferred ### What's included - Pay range: $16.42–$26.27/hour ($34,154–$54,642 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one and 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - 403(b) retirement plan - Career development resources and whole-person well-being support ### About the practice AdventHealth is a faith-based, not-for-profit health system operating across multiple states with a mission centered on whole-person care.
