About this role
A Certified Medical Assistant (Practice-Based) at AdventHealth supports ambulatory clinic operations at the University Professional Center in Tampa, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Perform clinical intake including vital signs, history taking, screenings, and medication reconciliation
- Administer medications, collect labs, initiate diagnostic testing, and document results in the EMR
- Assist providers with minor procedures and ensure accurate point-of-service documentation
- Educate patients on medications, tests, and dietary instructions
- Monitor and manage clinical inventory and ensure medical equipment is functioning
- Maintain OSHA compliance, patient confidentiality, and organizational policy standards
### What we're looking for
- Active certification as CMA, RMA, CMAC, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA (one required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 1+ year of medical assistant or related clinical experience (preferred)
- Proficiency with medical terminology and chronic disease management concepts
- Ability to work independently within certification scope in a fast-paced clinical environment
