About this role
AdventHealth South Orlando is hiring a full-time night-shift Registered Nurse for its 12-bed Pediatric Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at 601 E Rollins St, Orlando, FL.
### What you'll do
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments covering physiological, developmental, psychological, and sociocultural factors for pediatric PCU patients at a 3:1 (or 2:1 acuity-based) nurse-to-patient ratio
- Develop, implement, and continuously revise individualized care plans aligned with evidence-based standards
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor for adverse reactions and document outcomes accurately in the medical record
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies
- Coordinate care with physicians, PICU step-down teams, and ancillary departments to ensure safe transitions and continuity
- Respond to code situations promptly, providing stabilizing interventions as needed
### What we're looking for
- Active Florida RN license (required)
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (required); BSN preferred
- BLS/CPR and PALS certifications (required)
- At least 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)
- CCNS, PEARS, or Neonatal Med Certification (preferred)
- EKG interpretation ability per unit requirements

- Pay range: $31.53–$52.24/hr ($65,582–$108,659 annualized)
- Up to $20,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates (24-month contract required)

The Pediatric PCU at AdventHealth for Children is a 12-bed intermediate-care unit serving complex post-operative, chronic, and step-down pediatric patients on the third floor of the Orlando campus. The unit prioritizes family-centered, evidence-based care for patients transitioning from the PICU through recovery.
