About this role

AdventHealth Lenexa City Center is hiring a PRN Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient and distributive pharmacy operations at their facility in Lenexa, Kansas. ### What you'll do - Accurately prepare and dispense patient-specific medication doses, verifying drug, dose, dosage form, expiration dating, and barcode scanning - Compound sterile medications including IV solutions and piggyback containers under aseptic conditions following USP <795> and <797> guidelines - Manage automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) operations, troubleshoot pharmacy automation systems, and interpret electronic health records - Maintain inventory accuracy by receiving and rotating stock, removing expired medications, and managing controlled substances per regulatory standards - Identify and report potential medication errors, including look-alike/sound-alike risks, to support a culture of safety - Handle and dispose of hazardous waste materials according to environmental protocols, using appropriate PPE and spill kits ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent required - Minimum 1 year of contemporary hospital, retail, or ambulatory pharmacy experience - Active Kansas State Pharmacy Technician registration (RPhT) required - Demonstrated proficiency in sterile compounding and controlled substance handling - Ability to work across central/distributive, decentralized, and cleanroom pharmacy practice areas ### What's included - Pay range: $18.15–$30.34/hour (~$37,752–$63,107 annualized) - PRN/per-diem scheduling with day shifts - Participation in departmental quality improvement and educational activities ### About the practice AdventHealth Lenexa City Center is part of the AdventHealth system, a faith-based nonprofit health network operating across multiple states.
