About this role
A full-time night-shift RN position in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at AdventHealth for Children in Orlando, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Conduct comprehensive physiological, psychological, and developmental assessments and develop individualized care plans for critically ill infants and children.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, monitoring for adverse reactions in a 22-bed, centrally monitored critical care environment.
- Manage and assist with advanced procedures including endotracheal intubation, CVL insertion, invasive/non-invasive mechanical ventilation, ECMO, hemodialysis, and nitric oxide therapy.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies.
- Collaborate in twice-daily multidisciplinary family-centered rounds with intensivists, NPs, pharmacists, social workers, and therapy teams.
- Respond to code situations promptly and supervise delegated care to ensure quality and patient safety.
### What we're looking for
- Active Florida RN license or multistate compact eligibility.
- Applicable clinical experience in a pediatric or critical care setting (required for sign-on bonus eligibility).
- Proficiency in nursing care methods, critical thinking, and multi-system patient assessment.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work rotating weekends on a three 12-hour night-shift schedule (7:00 pm – 7:00 am).

The PICU operates 22 critical care beds with board-certified pediatric intensivists on unit 24/7 and supports subspecialty programs in epilepsy, liver transplant, bone marrow transplant, and congenital heart disease. The system includes 140 pediatric specialists across 35 subspecialties and more than 800 pediatric specialty-trained staff members.
