About this role
AdventHealth Celebration is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) to support its Cardiothoracic Service Line at its Celebration, Florida hospital.
### What you'll do
- Provide first assistance intra-operatively under surgeon direction, including tissue exposure, handling, cutting, cauterizing, and suturing
- Develop individualized care plans, assess patient data, and monitor for abnormal diagnostic findings throughout the peri-operative continuum
- Function as a Patient Safety Advocate, upholding patient rights to privacy, safety, and confidentiality
- Recognize and respond efficiently to emergency situations in the operating room environment
- Participate actively in Cardiothoracic Service Line Performance Improvement projects and track service line metrics
- Provide patient and family education on a planned or spontaneous basis and collaborate with support systems appropriate to patient age
### What we're looking for
- Active Florida RN license with CNOR, CRNFA, and RNFA credentials (all required)
- ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (all required)
- Minimum 2 years of circulating nurse experience and 2 years of surgical scrub experience (required)
- Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred
- Experience in cardiothoracic, cardiovascular, or cardiac ICU/OR setting preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of advanced nursing theory and specialty peri-operative practice across all age groups
