About this role
A Patient Care Technician role on the Med/Surg Pulmonary unit at AdventHealth Tampa, working night shifts in Tampa, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Perform treatments and deliver direct patient care appropriate to patient age, mobility, acuity, and cultural needs under the direction of a registered nurse
- Assist with obtaining nursing histories and report abnormalities or changes in patient condition to the RN
- Document and report all procedures in accordance with department policy
- Follow isolation protocols, use personal protective equipment correctly, and enforce unit safety regulations
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
- Respond appropriately during clinical emergencies and participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Active BLS/CPR certification (required)
- One of the following active certifications: CNA, CPCT/A, or EMT (required)
- At least 1 year of applicable PCT experience (preferred)
- Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, or monitor technician role (preferred)
- Effective communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
