About this role
AdventHealth South Overland Park is hiring a full-time ICU Charge Nurse for day-shift Intensive Care Unit leadership in Overland Park, Kansas.
### What you'll do
- Coordinate patient care across ICU, PACU, Radiology, and anesthesia teams, ensuring continuity and comprehensive care delivery.
- Develop, implement, and continuously adjust individualized patient care plans based on ongoing assessments and medical orders.
- Supervise and direct nursing assistants and support staff, including performance evaluation and progressive discipline as needed.
- Manage daily unit operations including staffing levels, scheduling, supply utilization, and fiscal oversight in collaboration with the nurse director.
- Serve as a clinical resource for staff on procedures, equipment, and patient care standards, including attending and leading code responses.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and support department compliance with education, policy, and professional practice standards.
### What we're looking for
- Active RN license in the state of Kansas.
- Demonstrated supervision experience in an acute or critical care nursing setting.
- Strong clinical assessment skills with ability to apply high-level critical thinking to complex patient cases.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based programs; Cerner EMR experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Broad nursing knowledge with demonstrated ability to lead a team, manage resources, and function independently.
