About this role

A per-diem Consumer Access Specialist role at AdventHealth's Flamingo Crossings emergency/hospital facility in Winter Garden, Florida, supporting front-end revenue cycle and patient registration operations. ### What you'll do - Register patients for all services, collecting accurate demographic and insurance information to minimize duplicate medical records. - Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, obtain pre-authorizations, and coordinate with utilization management on coverage issues. - Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage (ABNs) as required. - Generate patient financial responsibility estimates, collect payments, and establish payment plans or cash reconciliation. - Serve as a communication bridge among clinical, ancillary, and consumer access departments to support a smooth patient experience. - Provide PBX switchboard coverage, answer phones, transfer calls, and document all patient and payer interactions. ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred. - 1+ year of customer service, healthcare, or revenue cycle experience preferred. - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, EMR systems, and basic medical terminology. - Familiarity with CMS, EMTALA, and HIPAA compliance requirements. - Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. - Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) preferred. ### What's included - Pay range: $16.63–$26.60/hour (approximately $34,590–$55,328 annualized at 2,080 hours). - PRN/per-diem scheduling with 24-hour shift coverage availability. ### About the practice AdventHealth is a faith-based, not-for-profit health system with facilities across the United States, including a growing presence in the Winter Garden/Flamingo Crossings area of Florida.
