AdventHealth Tampa is hiring a full-time Respiratory Therapist II for night shifts at its acute care hospital in Tampa, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Initiate, maintain, transport, and monitor mechanical ventilators using conventional and non-conventional modes, including advanced ventilator waveform interpretation and esophageal balloon manometry.
- Perform comprehensive airway management: manual resuscitation, oral/nasal airway insertion, suctioning, extubation, tracheostomy tube changes, and de-cannulation.
- Obtain, analyze, and report arterial blood gases and co-oximetry findings; apply inhaled nitric oxide and pulmonary vasodilator medications.
- Assist physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy procedures, including equipment setup and maintenance.
- Respond immediately to Code Blue emergencies, delivering CPR per American Heart Association guidelines.
- Precept new orientees, drive process improvement initiatives, and serve as a clinical resource for lower-level therapists.
### What we're looking for
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science from an NBRC-accredited program.
- Current Florida RRT license (Registered Respiratory Therapist).
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in an acute care setting.
- Demonstrated pediatric and neonatal critical care skills.
- Proficiency in non-invasive therapies (BiPAP, high-flow, Heliox), capnography, and advanced tracheostomy care.
