About this role

A Registration Specialist (PRN) opening at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Hinsdale, Illinois, supporting patient access and revenue cycle operations on an as-needed basis. ### What you'll do - Register patients for all hospital services, collecting accurate demographic and insurance information to minimize duplicate medical records - Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, obtain pre-authorizations, and coordinate with utilization management staff on pre-authorization issues - Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage as required - Generate patient financial responsibility estimates, collect payments, and establish payment plans - Perform cashiering functions including collections and cash reconciliation - Provide PBX switchboard coverage as needed, managing inbound calls and interdepartmental communication ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred - 1+ year of customer service, relevant healthcare, or revenue cycle experience preferred - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and familiarity with electronic health record (EMR) systems - Basic to intermediate medical terminology and understanding of insurance benefits - Adherence to CMS, EMTALA, and HIPAA regulations - Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; CHAA or CRCR certification a plus ### What's included - Pay range: $17.99–$27.88/hr ($37,422–$59,862 annualized equivalent) - PRN schedule: one to two weekday shifts (6:30 AM–3:00 PM), every other weekend, and two holidays per year ### About the practice UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Hinsdale is a faith-based community hospital located at 120 N.
