About this role
A Medical Laboratory Scientist II (night shift, full-time) is needed at AdventHealth Lab in Orlando, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Perform pre-analytical activities including equipment maintenance, function checks, specimen collection, and biological specimen processing
- Execute tests and analytical procedures accurately according to established standard operating procedures
- Conduct post-analytical activities including results reporting and technical support
- Participate in proficiency testing in adherence with federal, state, and institutional regulations
- Maintain laboratory equipment and records, and perform quality assessment activities
- Serve as preceptor to orient and train new employees and students, with appropriate documentation
### What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution (or qualifying equivalency)
- Completion of an ABHES- or CAAHEP-approved clinical laboratory training program, or equivalent military medical laboratory training
- 2+ years of clinical laboratory experience (preferred)
- Ability to work independently, adapt to varying priorities, and direct workflow with minimal supervision
- Strong technical skills in laboratory testing, procedures, and processes relevant to assigned department
- Commitment to compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, and all applicable accrediting body standards
