About this role
UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Assistant Nurse Manager for its Med/Surg Cardiac unit (days) at AdventHealth La Grange in La Grange, Illinois.
### What you'll do
- Perform and oversee venous access procedures and infusion therapy within RN scope, adjusting care plans based on patient response.
- Develop individualized care plans for patients requiring venous access and infusion therapy, and provide patient and family education.
- Monitor nursing staff performance, conduct appraisals, deliver feedback, and implement improvement plans to uphold clinical standards.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives by analyzing unit data, identifying gaps, and executing strategies to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Resolve staff conflicts using mediation techniques to sustain a cohesive, positive work environment.
- Mentor and precept new staff through hands-on training and professional development support.
### What we're looking for
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license and current BLS certification (required).
- Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred).
- Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience (preferred).
- Minimum 1 year of charge nurse or nursing leadership experience (preferred).
- Strong critical thinking skills applied to unit operations and patient care delivery.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records and basic clinical technology.
