About this role

AdventHealth is hiring a part-time Physician Advisor to support Utilization Management and denial prevention across its Central Florida Division – South Region, based in Orlando, FL. ### What you'll do - Review and authorize inpatient days, evaluate inpatient utilization patterns, and develop strategies to address areas of improvement. - Serve as clinical liaison between attending physicians, contracted managed care payers, and hospital medical staff to facilitate accurate documentation, coding, DRG assignment, and denial avoidance. - Advise and educate Utilization Management staff on clinical issues, regulatory updates, and changes related to Care Management. - Review concurrent payer denials and intervene with attending or consulting physicians and managed care medical directors for reconsideration. - Analyze data and trends to identify utilization improvement opportunities and develop specialty-specific benchmarking within the Orlando market. - Participate actively on applicable medical staff committees including JOC/Payer, Revenue Cycle, and Finance Committee. ### What we're looking for - MD with current Florida state medical licensure. - Graduate of an accredited medical school and residency program. - 5+ years of recent clinical practice experience. - 3+ years of Physician Advisor experience. - Board certification and eligibility for hospital medical staff membership. ### What's included - Medical, dental, and vision insurance effective day one. - Paid time off from day one. - 403(b) retirement plan. - Four weeks of 100% paid parental leave. - Career development resources and whole-person well-being support. ### About the practice AdventHealth is a faith-based, nonprofit health system operating across multiple states, with a strong presence in Central Florida. The Central Florida Division – South Region includes several acute-care facilities and supports a broad network of contracted managed care and commercial payers. The Physician Advisor role interfaces directly with senior medical officers and revenue cycle leadership across these facilities.
