About this role
AdventHealth Avista is hiring a contract Staff Flex ICU RN for nights (36 hours/week) at its Louisville, Colorado hospital campus.
### What you'll do
- Conduct thorough, ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care aligned with interdisciplinary goals.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
- Collaborate on timely patient placement, including admission, discharge, and transfer per hospital policy.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, procedures, and care plans based on assessed learning needs.
- Perform safe and effective handoff communication and documentation at shift transitions.
- Follow CDC isolation guidelines, apply appropriate PPE, and enforce infection control and safety regulations.
### What we're looking for
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.
- Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, and TNCC preferred.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and abstract reasoning skills for ICU-level patient care.
- Proficiency with Windows-based computer systems and fluency in written and spoken English.
### What's included
- Contract rate of $70/hour plus shift differential for nights.
- 36-hour weekly schedule on the night shift.
