About this role

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Registered Respiratory Therapist I at its La Grange, Illinois hospital campus. ### What you'll do - Initiate, maintain, transport, and monitor mechanical ventilators using conventional ventilation modes per policy - Perform respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies, recommending the most efficient delivery method per protocol - Obtain, analyze, and report arterial blood gas and co-oximetry findings; conduct quality controls as needed - Maintain airways including manual resuscitator use, pharyngeal airway insertion, and suctioning - Respond immediately to Code Blue emergencies and administer CPR per American Heart Association guidelines - Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate therapy efficacy and adjust treatment plans per department protocol ### What we're looking for - Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science (required) - State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license or NBRC RRT credential (required) - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required) - Competency across neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations - 1+ year of critical care experience (preferred) ### What's included - Pay range: $25.65–$52.00/hr (~$53,352–$108,160 annualized) - Sign-on bonus up to $20,000 - Medical, dental, and vision insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one - 403(b) retirement plan - Four weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Mental health resources and whole-person well-being support ### About the practice UChicago Medicine AdventHealth La Grange is a faith-based community hospital located at 5101 Willow Springs Road in La Grange, Illinois, serving the western suburbs of Chicago.
