About this role
AdventHealth Tampa is hiring a full-time Certified Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Surgical floor on night shift in Tampa, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Perform treatments and direct patient care activities appropriate to patient age, mobility, acuity, and cultural needs under the direction of a registered nurse
- Assist in obtaining nursing histories and report abnormalities or changes in patient condition to the RN promptly
- Document and report all procedures in accordance with department policy
- Follow isolation guidelines, apply appropriate personal protective equipment, and enforce unit safety regulations
- Maintain a clean and safe patient environment throughout each shift
- Respond appropriately during clinical emergencies and participate in performance improvement initiatives
### What we're looking for
- Active CNA, CPCT/A, or EMT certification (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- At least 1 year of PCT experience (preferred)
- Prior bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, or monitor technician role (preferred)
- Effective communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
