About this role
AdventHealth Manchester is hiring a PRN Medical Laboratory Scientist for night shift laboratory operations at its facility in Manchester, Kentucky.
### What you'll do
- Perform pre-analytical activities including specimen collection, biological specimen processing, equipment maintenance, and supply inventory control.
- Execute laboratory tests and analytical procedures accurately according to established standard operating procedures.
- Conduct post-analytical activities including results reporting and technical support to clinical staff.
- Participate in proficiency testing and performance improvement activities in compliance with federal, state, and accrediting body regulations.
- Serve as a preceptor for new employees and students, documenting orientation and training appropriately.
- Evaluate new laboratory techniques and assist with data collection and special projects.
### What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or a qualifying science field from an accredited institution.
- MLS(ASCP), MLS(AMT), or equivalent certification preferred (formerly MT designations updated per 2022–2023 regulatory nomenclature changes).
- 2+ years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in laboratory techniques including specimen preparation, quality assessment, and equipment maintenance.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to shifting priorities, and direct workflow with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by PRN scheduling.
