About this role
A Monitor Technician (Nights) at AdventHealth Daytona Beach supports cardiac telemetry monitoring for inpatient units at the hospital's Daytona Beach, Florida campus.
### What you'll do
- Continuously observe telemetry monitors, identify normal and abnormal EKG/arrhythmia patterns, and promptly notify nursing staff of any changes
- Maintain and document the telemetry logbook in accordance with department policy
- Verify that monitor alarms are active and audible each shift; troubleshoot equipment as needed
- Maintain telemetry printouts during cardiac arrests and other indicated events
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient status and observed changes
- Participate in quality improvement activities and ongoing education to stay current with departmental best practices
### What we're looking for
- Prior monitor technician experience or successful completion of an AdventHealth Monitor Technician training program (or equivalent)
- Basic EKG/arrhythmia identification course completion (or equivalent knowledge)
- Familiarity with medical terminology and telemetry monitoring procedures
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office; accurate keyboarding and clerical ability
- Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent duties in a fast-paced inpatient environment
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required; competency skill check-off completed within 90 days of hire
