About this role
A Cook I position at AdventHealth Porter prepares patient, retail, and catering meals for a hospital food service operation in Denver, Colorado.
### What you'll do
- Prepare patient, retail, and catering meals following culinary production records, including short-order and batch cooking to meet quality and temperature standards.
- Execute advance prep tasks by reviewing pull sheets and organizing ingredients for upcoming service periods and high-volume production.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment and record equipment temperatures in compliance with health and regulatory requirements.
- Manage inventory by sorting, labeling, dating, and rotating stock to support food safety and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with managers and team members to communicate needs and support efficient food service delivery.
### What we're looking for
- 1+ year of foodservice experience in a high-volume culinary production setting (preferred).
- Demonstrated knowledge of cooking methods, recipe execution, and sanitary work procedures.
- Familiarity with food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and make decisions under pressure.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred); therapeutic diet preparation knowledge is a plus.
