Consumer Access Specialist Full Time Front Entrance South Overland Park

A Consumer Access Specialist role at AdventHealth South Overland Park handles front-entrance patient registration, insurance verification, and financial counseling at this hospital campus in Overland Park, Kansas. ### What you'll do - Register patients for all services, collecting accurate demographic and insurance information to minimize duplicate medical records - Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage as required - Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, obtain pre-authorizations, and coordinate with utilization management staff on coverage issues - Generate patient financial responsibility estimates, collect payments, and establish payment plans - Serve as communication liaison among clinical, ancillary, and consumer access departments to support a smooth patient experience - Perform cashiering functions including cash collection and reconciliation, and provide PBX/switchboard coverage as needed ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred - 1+ year of customer service, healthcare, or revenue cycle experience preferred - Basic to intermediate medical terminology knowledge - Familiarity with insurance benefits, EMR systems, and Microsoft Office applications - Adherence to CMS, EMTALA, and HIPAA regulations - Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; CHAA or CRCR certification a plus ### What's included - Pay range: $17.40–$27.84/hr ($36,192–$57,907 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one - 403(b) retirement plan - Four weeks of fully paid parental leave - Career development resources and mental health support ### About the practice AdventHealth South Overland Park is part of the AdventHealth system, a faith-based nonprofit health network serving communities across the United States.
