A Pharmacy Tech Specialist focused on ED Medication History joins AdventHealth Tampa, a faith-based health system, at its Tampa, Florida campus.
### What you'll do
- Collect and document accurate medication histories in the Emergency Department, supporting the pharmacist-led medication reconciliation process.
- Triage medication history workload across multiple campuses and patient care units.
- Serve as the subject matter expert in the medication history specialty area, developing and enforcing protocols to ensure accuracy and patient safety.
- Train pharmacy and clinical staff on standardized medication history collection practices and documentation tools.
- Collaborate with pharmacy leadership, clinical teams, and IT to support cross-functional initiatives and ensure process integrity.
- Participate in audits, quality improvement projects, and competency validation for technicians rotating through the specialty.
### What we're looking for
- Active Florida Pharmacy Technician registration or licensure.
- Proficiency across core and advanced pharmacy technician workflows.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, follow up on, and resolve medication discrepancies.
- Effective verbal and written communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and collaborate constructively with multidisciplinary teams.
