About this role
AdventHealth Hendersonville is hiring a full-time Registered Respiratory Therapist I (Day Shift) at its 100-bed community hospital in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
### What you'll do
- Perform respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies across neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations, recommending the most efficient delivery method per protocol.
- Initiate, maintain, transport, and monitor mechanical ventilators using basic conventional ventilation modes.
- Obtain, analyze, and report arterial blood gas and co-oximetry findings; perform quality controls as required.
- Perform airway maintenance including manual resuscitator use, oral/nasal pharyngeal airway insertion, and airway suctioning.
- Respond immediately to Code Blue emergencies, providing CPR per American Heart Association standards.
- Interpret evaluation and test results in consultation with the interdisciplinary care team to determine appropriate treatment plans.
### What we're looking for
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science (required).
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license or NBRC RRT credential (required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required).
- 1+ year of critical care experience (preferred).
- Demonstrated patient assessment skills across the full age spectrum from neonatal through geriatric.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and make cost- and time-efficient therapy recommendations.
