A Call Center Specialist – Physician Referrals at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth handles inbound scheduling and referral calls for patients across the health system, based remotely in the Chicagoland or Northwest Indiana area. ### What you'll do - Handle inbound consumer calls, resolving scheduling and referral inquiries accurately and promptly - Follow established workflows and scripting to capture correct demographics, insurance information, and authorization data - Initiate insurance eligibility verification at time of scheduling to support timely authorization and reimbursement - Assess department schedules to maximize resource utilization and prevent scheduling conflicts - Document all interactions thoroughly and update consumer records in CRM, EHR, and telephony systems - Meet individual key performance objectives including quality assurance scores and productivity benchmarks ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate degree preferred - 1+ year of inbound call center or customer service experience - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and demonstrated aptitude for CRM, telephony, and EHR platforms - Strong attention to detail with ability to listen and document simultaneously - Ability to reside in Chicagoland or Northwest Indiana and attend two weeks of onsite training in LaGrange - Bilingual English/Spanish and medical terminology knowledge preferred; Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI) a plus ### What's included - Pay range: $18.51–$29.62/hour (~$38,501–$61,609 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one - 403(b) retirement plan - Four weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Whole-person well-being and mental health resources ### About the practice UChicago Medicine AdventHealth serves the western suburbs of Chicago and operates a physician referral and scheduling contact center (CxC) coordinating care across its hospital and outpatient network. The system is headquartered at AdventHealth Hinsdale, located at 120 N. Oak Street, Hinsdale, IL 60521. This is a remote-eligible role with an initial onsite training period at the LaGrange campus.
