About this role
AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is hiring a full-time Clinical Chaplain to provide spiritual care and emotional support to patients, families, and staff at its hospital campus in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.
### What you'll do
- Deliver individual and group pastoral care to patients, families, and clinical staff across inpatient units including Behavioral Health.
- Provide Night on Call (NOC) and Weekend on Call (WOC) coverage and respond to emergency codes (Code Blue, Code Green).
- Conduct pre-surgical visits and follow up with surgical patients within 24 hours post-operatively.
- Lead Chapel Services, devotional services, and Sunday services in the Behavioral Health unit as scheduled.
- Assist in planning and facilitating Critical Incident Stress Debriefing sessions for staff.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with the interdisciplinary care team and local clergy community.
### What we're looking for
- Master of Divinity or equivalent graduate theological degree (72-hour minimum) required.
- Minimum 4 units of ACPE-accredited Clinical Pastoral Education (Level 1 and Level 2 engaged) required.
- At least 1 year of pastoral ministry or chaplaincy experience preferred.
- Board Certified Chaplain (BCC), Ecclesiastical Endorsement, or Ordained/Commissioned Minister credential preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective spiritual care across diverse religious, cultural, and educational backgrounds.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (Cerner or similar) preferred.
