About this role
A Monitor Technician (full-time, day shift) role at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, supporting inpatient telemetry monitoring across rotating weekend shifts.
### What you'll do
- Observe and interpret cardiac monitor displays, recognizing and documenting normal and abnormal EKG/arrhythmia patterns in real time.
- Promptly notify nursing staff of any cardiac abnormalities detected on telemetry monitors.
- Maintain and verify monitor alarms are set and audible each shift; troubleshoot equipment issues as needed.
- Document patient monitoring activity in accordance with department policy and maintain the telemetry logbook.
- Participate in performance improvement activities and support departmental quality standards through accurate documentation.
### What we're looking for
- Prior monitor technician experience or successful completion of an AdventHealth Monitor Technician training program (or equivalent).
- Familiarity with medical terminology and arrhythmia identification; basic EKG course or equivalent knowledge required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office; accurate keyboarding and clerical skills.
- BLS/CPR certification preferred.
- Ability to prioritize multiple duties and work a flexible schedule including weekends and overtime.
