About this role
A Specialty Pharmacy Technician II role at AdventHealth's Consolidated Service Center, located in Apopka, Florida, supporting distributive pharmacy functions within a specialty pharmacy setting.
### What you'll do
- Submit insurance claims, follow up on denials, and ensure proper reimbursement for specialty medications
- Process claims adjudication and copay assistance billing, selecting appropriate NDC codes and shipping methods at point of dispense
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, entering prescription data into pharmacy systems
- Contact prescriber offices to clarify missing prescription information and coverage details, keeping patients informed throughout
- Coordinate medication access and adherence by responding to prescription dispensing requests and processing refill orders
- Perform customer account reconciliation and address patient questions and concerns
### What we're looking for
- Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) licensure — required
- 1+ year of pharmacy technician experience in retail, mail-order, central fill, or hospital pharmacy (or equivalent AdventHealth student internship)
- Knowledge of third-party pharmacy insurance and claims processing
- Familiarity with federal and state laws governing pharmacy practice and delegation
- Strong mathematical skills sufficient for pharmaceutical calculations
- NHA or PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) designation — preferred
