About this role
A Monitor Technician role at AdventHealth Port Charlotte supports inpatient telemetry monitoring on a night-weekend schedule at the Port Charlotte, FL campus.
### What you'll do
- Observe telemetry monitors continuously, recognizing and documenting normal and abnormal EKG/arrhythmia patterns
- Notify nursing staff promptly of any cardiac abnormalities or changes in patient status
- Maintain and verify monitor alarms each shift; troubleshoot equipment as needed
- Maintain telemetry logbook and printouts, including during cardiac arrest events
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient status updates
- Support departmental quality initiatives, participate in ongoing education, and maintain a clean, organized work environment
### What we're looking for
- Prior monitor technician experience or successful completion of an equivalent monitor tech training program
- Basic EKG/arrhythmia identification course completion (or equivalent knowledge)
- BLS/CPR certification (required)
- Familiarity with medical terminology and telemetry procedures
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office; accurate keyboarding and clerical skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and overtime
