About this role
AdventHealth Manchester is hiring a contract OR Registered Nurse for its surgical services unit in Manchester, Kentucky, at a rate of $66/hour.
### What you'll do
- Deliver competent, compassionate perioperative nursing care to surgical patients throughout their OR stay.
- Assist physicians with bedside and intraoperative procedures and verify/sign off on physician orders.
- Administer medications accurately as ordered and respond to unit and hospital code situations.
- Manage patient admissions, transfers, and discharges in a professional, organized manner.
- Educate patients and families from admission through discharge on care plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Document all nursing education provided, patient responses, and outcomes; initiate referrals to other providers as needed.
### What we're looking for
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky (or compact eligibility).
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.
- Associate degree in Nursing (required); additional education a plus.
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required).
- ACLS, PALS, or TNCC certification (preferred).
- Proficiency with Windows-based computer programs and strong English communication skills.
