About this role
A contract Pre/Post-Op RN (day shift) role at AdventHealth Carrollwood, located in Tampa, Florida, supporting surgical patients through the perioperative continuum.
### What you'll do
- Provide patient and family education from admission through discharge, covering medications, procedures, disease processes, and discharge instructions.
- Deliver competent, compassionate pain management and maintain a safe care environment in accordance with policy.
- Administer medications accurately as ordered and respond to unit and hospital code situations.
- Assist physicians with bedside procedures and provide care for patients requiring oxygen support.
- Manage patient admissions, transfers, and discharges; verify and sign off physician orders and obtain lab specimens.
- Evaluate and revise the nursing care plan based on patient outcomes and interventions.
### What we're looking for
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.
- Associate degree in nursing (required); higher education welcomed.
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required).
- ACLS, PALS, or TNCC certification (preferred).
- Proficiency in English (read, written, verbal) and basic computer skills in Windows-based programs.
