Patient Care Technician Medical Surgical

A Patient Care Technician supports medical-surgical inpatient nursing teams at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth La Grange in La Grange, Illinois. ### What you'll do - Perform patient care treatments per policy, adapting to patient age, mobility, acuity, and cultural needs - Assist registered nurses in delivering bedside care, documenting all procedures in accordance with department policy - Respond appropriately during clinical emergencies and follow prescribed isolation and infection-control guidelines - Obtain nursing history information and report abnormal findings to the supervising RN - Maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and staff on a 24-hour/week day-shift schedule (6:45 am–7:15 pm, rotating weekends and holidays) ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required) - Minimum 1 year of applicable PCT experience, preferably in an acute care setting - Active BLS/CPR certification (required) - One of the following credentials: CNA, CPCT/A, or EMT certification (required) - Effective communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members ### What's included - Pay range: $17.17–$27.46/hour (~$35,714–$57,117 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Mental health resources, well-being support, and pet benefits ### About the practice UChicago Medicine AdventHealth La Grange is a faith-based community hospital located at 5101 Willow Springs Road in La Grange, Illinois, operating as part of the AdventHealth network.
