About this role
A Consumer Access Specialist position is open at AdventHealth Porter in Denver, Colorado, supporting patient registration, insurance verification, and revenue cycle functions within a faith-based health system.
### What you'll do
- Register patients for all services, collecting accurate demographic and insurance information to minimize duplicate medical records
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, obtain pre-authorizations, and coordinate with utilization management staff on coverage issues
- Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage (ABNs) as required
- Generate accurate patient financial responsibility estimates, collect payments, and establish payment plans
- Manage communication across clinical, ancillary, and consumer access departments to support a smooth patient experience
- Perform cashiering functions including cash collection and reconciliation, and provide PBX/switchboard coverage as needed
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
- 1+ year of experience in customer service, healthcare, or revenue cycle (preferred)
- Basic to intermediate medical terminology knowledge
- Familiarity with insurance benefits, EMR systems, and Microsoft Office programs
- Adherence to CMS, EMTALA, and HIPAA regulations
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; CHAA or CRCR certification a plus
